Have an original Switch 12 with USB 3.0 port on side that has stopped working. Device manager shows no errors and USB 2.0 port works fine. Anyone hear of this problem or a fix ?

Opened up and found a copper plate that seems to be glued to the circuit board. Found some old notes that the 3.0 port was no faster than a 2.0 (yes had the 9-wire) so no big. Works fine otherwise.

Is it not powered or is it data issues?

Power, seems on at first then goes away. Thinking a bad solder joint, is really a poor place to put a USB port particularly the thin one. OTOH suspect a working Switch 12 (original) is a collectors item. Even loaded the latest Creators update and VMPlayer 14 runs just fine (somewhat notorious about not running on some CPUs).

No chance the device is trying to pull more than spec? That might shut the port down... I had no issues with the latest Creators Update either with mine.
