I just got my laptop for Christmas this year and when I started it up and tried to go on the internet, the pages were slow. I put the laptop on an ethernet cable and it started to run fast. I tried to look for drivers but It still won't run as fast as when I plug in an ethernet cable. Help?

It will never run as fast as the ethernet connection. Depending on the router, your wireless card, bandwidth(2.4ghz or 5ghz) and the distance between laptop and router the connection speed can vary between 90%(if your wireless card is very good and device right next to the router) to less than 30%(if you are away from the router and your wireless card isn't as good). This is a comparison to ethernet connection, which we assume is 100%.A generic wireless card is able to pick only 50% of the packets compared to ethernet(100%).
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

The wireless internet runs smoothly throughout my house and when I put the laptop right by it to plug the ethernet cable in, it is still slow. The laptop says this on Newegg (where I bought it) for the wireless internet, "Equipped with the latest 802.11ac wireless featuring MU-MIMO technology, experience up to 3x faster performance."

    Hi,
You could try disabling QOS in your router settings, open your router settings, Wireless settings, then Advanced settings and untick QOS for both Channels.

    Hi,
You have to find googling or from your router manufacturer's site/ISP's information page.

Open command prompt or windows powershell and enter ipconfig. Next to defult gateway you will see an IP. Enter the digits including the dots in your browser's address bar.
