Shipping Reimbursement

I had to send my brand new desk top unit to Texas for a repair the day after Amazon delivered it.  The person I spoke to in customer support told me that Acer would pay the shipping both ways.  I just called customer support again to find out how to get reimbursed for the cost of shipping their defective machine to them and was told that the inbound shipping was my responsibility.  If I had known that I would have sent it back to Amazon for free.  Another example of the customer is always wrong.
