If topic needs to be moved I apologize. Couldn't find a category that would fit this topic. Trying to help someone who has a months-old Aspire 3 A315-21-95K which comes with a 2-cell battery, supposedly p/n AP16M5J (haven't opened it to confirm). Battery's supposed to last up to 5.5 hours. If I boot to the BIOS and leave it running on battery, it lasts about 5.25 hours. If I boot to Windows and leave it on energy power saver plan, and use Chrome and other apps (nothing intensive), it lasts less than 2 hours and drains quickly. I realize we shouldn't expect much from a 2-cell battery, but still, it's odd. All attempts to find a p/n for a better battery for this laptop have failed. Any advice would be appreciated. I don't think sending it back to Acer would be beneficial at this point.

The advirtised battery runtime can only be achieved when the screen brightness is set to 0%, battery saver turned on and the system has to be idle.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Thank you. I guess I can only find out if a better battery is available if I call Acer...

AcerCare software doesn't detect any issues, but if I open a command prompt with admin priviledges and run powercfg /energy, the resulting html diag report says that are several errors. I'll post it here tomorrow in hopes of finding out if it's worth doing something else before contacting Acer. One hour, with energy saver on and low brightness still sounds too short, even for a 2-cell battery I'd think. Laptop is about 3 months-old.
