I have long have an issue with my sound card. There is no sound unless I connect a speaker to my Jack. The issue has grown to also not give out sound throught HDMI and not recive input from my michropone on the headset. but the built in mic works. I have grown to accept it, but the thing that confuses me is that there is sound when I connect the power cable during boot. So apparently something is this functional. Since the issue first occured I have reinstalled windows 10, and upgraded software on motherboard.

Something might have gone wrong during the reinstallation of windows 10 which was done as a clean install. Since when I shut down the OS. The computer remains turned on if it has been turned on for more than an hour, and I have to force it off unless I want my battery drained. Aslo sleep/hibernate mode does not work. This might be relevant or not, because the sound was ***** up b4 reinstall. I am aware that my computer is dying I was just corious how I can have sound when I plug in my power cable but not in my OS.

I would suggest that you backup your important personal files and go back to the operating system that came pre-installed on the computer.  If you forgot to create recovery media, you can get from Acer.

    http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/

If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 8.1, you can get that from either Acer or from link below.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

    And drivers from:

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

If you do a clean install with vanilla Windows 8.1 from Microsoft's website, make sure you select "Custom Installation", and then delete all of your partitions first, so you have a clean disk before you install.........and then click "Next" and the Windows installer will automatically partition and format your HDD and install Windows.

There's a slight chance you might still be able to restore your computer to factory condition by either using Alt+F10 at the Acer boot logo or using Acer Recovery Mangement software that came pre-installed on your computer.

After your computer is stable and running properly, you might consider a BIOS update if necessary.
    I'm not an Acer employee.
