I bought a reconditioned ACER ASPIRE SWITCH  - model SW-012-14BM.
This runs windows 8.1 32 bit with Bing.
It has a 32g eMMC about 20g of which is taken up by the C drive and the rest by a so-called "recovery partition".
There is also a 500g SSD which contains a D drive. This SSD is located under the keypad so that it becomes unconnected if the keypad is detached.
After installing a few programs the C drive became nearly full.
I decided to try to relocate the recovery partition to the SSD to give me more room on the eMMC and to expand the C drive.
I neglected to create a backup recovery file on to a USB stick.
I cloned the recovery partition to the SSD successfully and then made the mistake of deleting the recovery partition on the eMMC.
I then shut down the computer.
When I tried to restart I got en error message stating that the computer was missing components and needed to be reinstalled.
My guess is that the windows EFI file was on the recovery partition which was not automatically accessed on the SSD.
I tried to download windows 8.1 recovery files from the ACER store but got the message that this is not available for this computer model.
I realise it is complicated and messy, but can anyone suggest how I can recover the situation?
If I am not clear, just tell me and I'll try to do better.
