I have one Acer chromebook CB3-131which is not working and is showing that the message "Chrome OS is missing or damaged. Please insert recovery USB Stick or SD card ". On pressing tab key

I bought this already used, and i shipped it to Romania Europe. It had some delays in shipping and it arrived in 25.11.2017 and the warranty expired on 16.11.2017

When i start it i had this error, i tried to reinstall chrome OS, i tried 25 times reset with 30s on between resets, i can't go  in developer option either.

the recovery reason it gives is:

0x5b no bootable kernel found on disk

I downloaded the recovery image on 3 different USB and it shows an unexpected error.

Please guide me on how to proceed and recover my Acer Chromebook.

Thanks & Regards

Catalin

No bootable kernel found on disk means that the disk is either corrupted or has failed. Try a power wash to see if it comes back and if that doesn't help try a reinstall of the OS (that will require a different system to create the OS install flash drive). Let us know if either helps.
