I'm looking to buy a new laptop that I can use for work, school, surfing the net, and gaming. I'd like to keep it at a budget of $2,000. Any suggestions?

It is like most people that have a gripe......don't buy.  Probably b/c they don't know how to do proper set-up in the first place and have problems.  They don't know how to use the "Disk Clean-up and Defrag HD" on a regular basis, to keep their system running smoothly.  Or they might not realized their Anti-Virus is not the best or they have some Malware and don't know how to remove.   It doesn't matter whose mfg computer they bought.

People like to report bad experiences as they goofed up themselves, in some way.  Blame someone else.  I have a 3 year old+ Acer 11.6" Chrome Book and a more recent Acer Spin 1, 11.6" w and downloaded the latest Win 10, version 1709, upgrade.

I have a 6+ year old i5 laptop that came with Win 7 and did the upgrades and updates, then upgraded to Win 10 along with its upgrades and updates, and then Win 10 with updates and recent upgrade to Version 1709.

The hardware and software that comes with any comparable mfgs model, will be the same....long story short.  It is about how you keep it running smoothly ALL the time.  If you work in a company using their systems, you can learn a lot from one of their IT people, on how to keep your home system running at its optimum.  Or just get plain ole advice from them too.

I was just wondering why the poster posted what they did. But you are probably  correct. I've ran into people who are never happy with any computer no matter who it was  manufactured by. The biggest problem being them not the computer.

I'm currently looking for a new laptop to purchase because I lost my last one due to Hurricane Harvey. I'm just not sure which one is the best one to buy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dell, HP, Acer, ASUS are what I would select.    Compare Apples and Apples with them and go with the best price.   There should be some good pricing this time of year.  Good Luck and sorry you lost yours in Harvey.

Which Acer would you recommend? I've looked at quite a few laptops but I'm just not sure which one would be the one to chose. Yeah, it really sucks to have lost my laptop because of Harvey. Unfortunately these things happen. Now I'm just trying to replace and get a good deal at the same time.
