Aspire XC-704

hi. I have an Acer XC-704 and the drive went faulty. I got a new drive but every time I try to reboot from dvd with the system recovery disk it wont do it. it says that to please insert and bootable disc. I then bought a new windows disc and it says the same on that. any ideas as to what going on??
