Does anyone have this problem?

I recently got the Acer Predator Helios 300 from Amazon and it has been a great laptop to use. I started gaming and overall turning the brightness up when I used it and I noticed this. I am told this is called back light bleeding. Is this acceptable? When I play games at high brightness it is noticeable in dark settings in game.

Hi,
Not all IPS screens have backlight bleeding, if you post the make of your screen, I can compare that with some good replacement screens, go to Device manager, highlight your Generic pnp monitor, right click and select Properties, go to Details tab, select HW IDS with dropdown arrow, and let us know the Value.

It will be noticable in comoletely black areas, but if it is noticable in more grey-ish colours then it is not normal and you should request a replacement from your retailer.

Hi,
It looks bad, does it make it difficult for your normal usage of the laptop?  There's a slight backlight bleeding in IPS screens but this is not acceptable, if you want, return it for a replacement.

I took two pictures with the brightness on high one with light and one without. In normal use the bleed is not noticeable, but like I said when I try to play a game that is dark or otherwise I can see it especially on the center top of the screen in two places whenever the background is black.

It is common for IPS displays, but your one looks a bit much. Even little, you will see it when the pixels are off(completely black), but if it is noticable in brighter black then it isn't normal and you will have to ask for a replacement. At the end, a little or a lot bleeding, depends on you whether to replace it or not. The chance that the replacement will look better is very high.
