I'm trying to find a second charger for my Predator 17 laptop because I have to move it between two places frequently. This is the charger I have now, with a second picture as a close-up of the UP/N.

I bought a charger off of Ebay with a similar UP/N because I couldn't find one for sale anywhere with the correct UPN (which, on my old charger, is A230A006L). The new one's UP/N is A230A004L. Since both model numbers are A12-230P1A, I hoped it would be compatible, though obviously I don't know much about laptop chargers. The new charger is pictured below.

I got the new charger today, plugged it in, and found that it doesn't work with my computer. My old charger still connects fine, and when I plug the three-pronged cord into the new charger box, the green light on the charger box comes on, but no power reaches the laptop, even when using the same plug and cord as the one on my old charger. So, either I got the wrong charger, or it's broken.

So, I have two main questions. First, any idea where to find a charger compatible with my laptop? I don't care if it's the one I have specifically or not, I just want one that is reasonably durable and works. Any suggestions? Second, is the new charger likely broken and needs to be thrown away, or should it be all right for resale if the green charger light comes on? I don't want to sell someone else a charger if it's broken, but I cannot get a refund for it.

I think it might be a problem with the charger itself. I have a GX-792 and I have the charger of GX-791. which I just tried and it works flawlessly. The model is different and the brand too, but it is charging.

You can masure if there is any voltage present at the charger's plug, using a voltage measuring tool or a multimeter. If there isn't any voltage, I assume the cable could be damaged along the way, as the green light illuminates which should mean that the transformer is powered up.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
