I have an AMD and Intel machine here that are Salvage machines and I am looking to possibly just replace their CPUs to bring them up a bit more to use as Media servers and guest machines for some casual gaming but can't seem to find much info on cpu compatibility.

The AMD machine is a AST180-ED382A that came with an Athlon 64 x2 3800+. I had an old Athlon 64 x2 4800+ that I was able to pop in and also have a 6400+ on hand but that is currently in use for a machine for my mother to play her MMOs on until I upgrade my Phenom II x 965 BE to the Ryzen 5 1600x over the next few months for my main system.

The Intel is an AM1641-E1610B that came with an E2200. I pulled an E2220 out of an old junked HP that the system had been smashed with a hammer by the previous owner but the CPU was protected by the heatsink and still worked so using that in it for now. I was looking at getting the Q9650 for it but don't want to buy a CPU and then find out it is not compatible.

Games to be ran are mostly F2P games like SWTOR, EQ2, World of Warships, World of Tanks, Star Trek Online, Age of Conan, Secret World Legends, and Neverwinter.

Closest info I could find was https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/194875/am1640-u1401a-motherboard where it says "Processor Type:
- Intel Celeron / Celeron D / Pentium D /Pentium Dual Core/Core 2 Duo / Core2 Quad / Yorkfield / Wolfdale CPUs
FSB 533/800/1066/1333 MHz CPUs"
The Q9650 is a Yorkfield still I believe but alot of similar board info on an MSI board that people were saying it is pretty much only listed a Q6700 max CPU. This is the Q9650 I was looking at trying to get one of if it was compatible. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-for-Intel-Q9650-CPU-Core2-QUAD-3-0GHz-LGA775-12MB-Cache-Quad-CORE-FSB/2035203582.html

These 2 machines are just ones that were thrown out and I repaired/salvaged. The AMD was delivered in a box of misc pc parts to the house by my mother's boss because since he knew I was into fixing them and needed me to replace the HDD in his laptop so the parts were his payment. It wasn't working at the office so they replaced it. The Intel was dropped off at the dump so I salvaged it and got it cleaned up and working. Now just looking at rebuilding both as faster machines than they currently are.
