ES1 - 572 Screen keeps dimming itself

This is very aggravating. The screen settings are all at 100% but the screen has been dimming itself. Previously if I pressed Fn+ Screen dimming then pressing the screen brightning the screen would become brighter again. This no longer works and the screen is a lot dimmer. Is this a problem with the product itself or can it be rectified? I don't want to leave this unanswered as the warranty will expire and I'd rather have it fixed or replaced.

Hi,
It could be a faulty screen as well, if you can, try connecting your laptop to an external monitor or TV and compare the behaviour, if it works well then you need to get it fixed or replaced.

You could try reinstalling the display driver, try another Power plan, if you are using Balanced plan, switch to High Performance plan and try restore the default settings for that plan.

@brummyfan2 Thanks for the reply. This was the first thing I checked. All settings are at 100% brightness. The laptop is plugged into the power. The Windows 10 settings for display show 100%. There is no apparent reason why the 100% brightness should ever deviate but it does and I can't figure out why. It is random. At this moment in time the screen is bright but for how long this will last is anyone's guess. This laptop is a replacement for my Aspire 7535 which are night and day in comparison.
