I am looking at replacing my struggling Dell Inspiron with the Acer Nitro 5, but unfortunately, it coming with Windows10 is enough for me to consider digging through warehouse stores and junk heaps for my next laptop instead.

Has anyone replaced their Win10 with Win7? Or even 8.1?

Ever since putting Win10 on my Dell it no longer recognizes it has a disc drive or USB drives (even from BIOS), I'm concerned that I will be unable to change the OS on the Nitro5.

Ideally via an external disc reader, but I could manage a USB also.
