Remove Base from K242HYL

I recently purchased a K242HYL monitor for my system. The monitor base attached and is tight. A few days later, however, I decided to get a dual-monitor stand and got another monitor.

The question is - How do I remove the base from the first monitor? I got the base itself off but cannot see how to get the part that is attached to the monitor off. The manual doesn't help. It says something like "to remove the base, reverse the process" after a couple of pictures showing the installation process, but that doesn't help me get the other part of the base removed.

Any suggestions?
