I got an Acer Aspire desktop AM3410-UR21P that has a WD 1TB hdd installed. But Windows 7/10 only sees 247GB, with 232GB usable. The rest space doesn't show up in Disk Management page. Where are the other disk spaces?

Ok, now i understood what happened.
To enter BIOS press Del key.
Probably the SATA chipset is set to RAID
Normally the option is on BIOS, you need to set SATA as AHCI instead of RAID.
but i'm not sure if your model has AHCI as option or only RAID and Native IDE, please check on BIOS under: integrated chipset/Onbonard SATA mode.
by the way if AHCI is not available, leave it as RAID and enter the RAID management with Ctrl+F as always, select the extent partition and check if you are able to delete it (this involves that you need to re-install windows), exit and during windows installation, look if it's recognised with the full storage.

How do I insert a picture here? I got a screen shot on my digital camera but don't see any button here to upload it.

    Hi,
Save the screen shot in Pictures, then click the picture frame in the header above, browse to your Picture folder, select the screen shot, click open.
You can also use the snipping tool to save the snip in pictures and post here.

Thank you for the inputs. My trouble is with the Acer Community forum Leave a Comment page where I don't see any function buttons, such as "Insert a image" , at my end.

    Thanks.

The message I got on this thread is in a RED bar, saying "You have to be around for a little while longer before you can post links." Am I that bad?

In the screen shot, the WD hdd is the original 1TB hdd, which I can only see 232GB in the Disk Manager page.

ok, so no RAW or unallocated space on Disk management Disk 1?
    if so
open a command prompt as administrator
    then type diskpart
    sel disk 1
    list partition
    list volume

take a screenshot or copy/paste the results

i can't see any RAW or unallocated either, so i'm out of ideas.
if you are still under warranty, give Acer support service a call.

During boot there is a line saying "use Ctl-F to set raid system" or something like that. So I used the Ctl-F key combination and got to the raid system screen - something I don't understand. In the second photo, it shows the WD hdd with 1000GB capacity but only 250GB was located for Extent 1.

    First screen after Ctl-F:

After entered 1 on the above screen:
    https://ibb.co/bwuLDG
This is where the 1TB capacity is displayed.

I have no idea about how to work this AMD ROM Option setup.

Also, the during boot up the Acer PC doesn't respond to the F1 key - the way I access BIOS on other PCs. So, how do I access the BIOS pages on this Acer PC?

Yes, the Del key got me in to the BIOS setup pages. In BIOS chipset page, AHCI is one of the 3 choices and I selected it. The only trouble I went in to afterwards is that the system could not boot and the repair went no where. I reinstalled the OS with Acer's eRecovery disk set and now the PC is back alive, with about 900GB usable disk space.

    Thank you for the help.
