Aspire R14 mouse won't work on any USB port but ports charge and recognize thumb drives.

Spent three days trying to figure this one out, even Acer support didn't provide anything that worked. This is what finally worked.
I suspect the problem was caused by an update, probably Windows 10 in the background as that is a common source of frustration.

Start Related Services to Fix HID-compliant Mouse Not Working


1. Open Windows Services on Windows 10.

2. Locate Human Interface Device Access or Human Interface Device Service and check the current status.

3. Double click the items to make some changes: Click General tab and click the Start button if available. Change the Startup type to Automatic.

4. Click Apply and OK. Close the window and restart the PC.

Now connect your HID-compliant mouse to the computer to see if it can work properly.
