I've been having a problem recently with the internet randomly dropping. My other devices connect to the internet so I know it's not my wi-fi or router. It's specific to my laptop. My laptop will be connected to the internet and then disconnect repeatedly. I have run troubleshooter through windows and checked that the network adaptor was up to date already. According to Windows everything is working and up to date. Any idea what the problem might be? It's pretty frustrating as I've never had this problem with my other computers before and I just purchased this laptop 10 months ago. Thanks.

It's possible the driver somehow got corrupted from an Win update, new installation or simply a fluke. I suggest uninstalling the driver in Device Manager, exit, shut down Windows and re-boot to let Windows auto re-detect the adapter and re-install the driver. Jack E/NJ

What signal strength are you seeing on the taskbar app? See what happens when you move the laptop closer to the router. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks for asking.

It's almost full signal strength and I moved to be next to the router and I still had a problem. My other devices, phone and tablet are connected. I can also stream on my Roku in an upstairs room (away from router). It has something to do with the Network adaptor or IP address or something. It also happens when I am away from home. It just started happening about a week ago.

    :) :) :)

That is exactly what I did last night when I accidentally uninstalled the network adaptor. It may be the solution as things seem to be working well today. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be back if it happens again. It makes me uncomfortable messing around with my computer because I don't really know what I'm doing.

    I appreciate your help.
