Hi. I have an XC-605 desktop which had a P11.A0 BIOS. I have found a more recent update of the BIOS with the version of P11.B4. In many cases, a BIOS update are necessary for the computer to keep running smoothly. So I have decided to have a go and flashed the BIOS with the default setting. No changes, just loading the ROM file and proceeded with reprogramming. It all went well with the software verifying the updates with no error. I continued browsing the net using the pc for a few minutes and restarted it to make sure all is ok. To my surprise, it didn't go well. The computer makes ONE LONG BEEP with no display at all at the monitor. I had to long press the power button to shut the system down. Was I not suppose to update the BIOS? Please help.

    constantine,

Sorry to hear of your trouble.  I don't know how to fix it.  The only thing I can suggest is to unplug the computer from the electrical outlet, remove the side panel and then remove the cmos battery for about an hour.  After an hour, put cmos battery back in and re-attach side panel....plug in and turn on and hope for best.
