I know the newer G9-793s have a 60hz screen, whereas some of the earlier versions had a 75hz screen. I have seen info all around the web saying that there is a huge difference btw the refresh rates and I was wondering if anyone was able to overclock theirs to 75hz stabley or if there were issues.

If your device has a 4k dispaly, it is 60Hz and cannot be overclocked. As far as I know only the g9-793s with Full HD display are 75Hz and can be overclocked to 100Hz.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

They are 60hz. For some reason they changed from 75hz. It took me a long time to get to that answer. I had to break through to Tech Support, since Sales didn't know and ACER and XOTIC (either that or XCALIBUR) both contradicted themselves in regards to this refresh rate on Amazon. I feel confident that it is 60hz for all of the 79v5s. You were able to get the 75hz model to get to 100 and be stable w/o heat issues/etc?
