Hey all,

Had some questions about my new laptop dropping frames. While Im playing pubg I drop to about 50 frames when running in open areas, sometimes less. But when Im indoors I go to 100fps+. Also after Ive had a long session I drop to 20 frames for about 6 seconds then go back to normal? anyone have a solution?

Specs:

gtx 1060

16gb ram

I7 7770k

I also have an external cooler pad

(thanks in advance!)

It is normal to have less fps when in open areas because there are more things your GPU needs to render. The area in rooms is less than the area outside, that is why the framerate drops, because the GPU is stressed more. The CPU too.

The big difference in fps occurs probably because you have enabled MSAA. Disable it and your fps will go up. Also you can enable Vsync and limit your fps to 60. You don't need 100fps when your screen is 60Hz and can display up to 60fps.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
