Acer Helios 300 crashing/stuttering/BSOD after updating to v1.09

So I installed Smite on this laptop while on 1.01 and for the most part well on this game about 95% of the time except on key moments in the game where it would freeze for about 2-3 seconds. So I started browsing on this forums for similar issues and decided to update the BIOS to v1.09 as it was the commonly given advice. The stuttering/freezing only seemed to intensify and so I checked to update my nvidia drivers as well as the graphics drivers for my the integrated graphics 630, still no solution. So no I tried disabling the Intel 630 from device manager and only running it from the GTX 1060. It is at this point the game now doesnt work at all now. The game boots up to the main menu of the game and then alt+tabs itself to the desktop then goes black then goes to the main menu then back to the desktop. It continues this cycle until the computers BSODs. I get the exact same BSOD as this guy here:

I have reinstalled SMITE and it still does the same thing. I feel like everytime I try something to fix this issue it only gets worse. Fortunately other games dont seem to be affected(Only checked Overwatch so far.)

Anyone have advice? Should I just go back to v1.01? If so how do I do that?

You can't reverse update the BIOS. This is not the way how you disable the integrated GPU. Install the latest intel hd graphics driver. Go to nvidia control panel and from manage 3d settings and then from preferred graphics processor choose high performance nvidia.

It looks like an issue with the game as it doesn't appear in other games. Try running the game with the Integrated GPU and see if a BSOD will appear.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

So thinking back when I updated the drivers, I did it from the device manager>display adapters> right-click on Intel(R) HD Graphics 630>update driver. So just in case I checked the drivers from the intel website. I even installed the driver update utility to check I had the latest drivers.

Just tried setting the preferred graphics processor to both the integrated graphics chip and the high performance nvidia processor. Both times Smite BSODed.

Then it is the game not your system.

I've also started to experience small stuttering just normal use. Like when using my internet browser or when I'm on the desktop my mouse would just freeze for a second.

Ok I think I kinda solved the problem. I went back to device manager and rolled back the update on Intel(R) HD Graphics and the game now runs and is playable. I now kinda back to square one though, with the occational stutters. So it seems that the issue is with the integrated graphics chip. Is it possible the new driver was causing problems when switching to and from the GTX 1060?
