Acer XF240H Monitor: Black screens upon popping noise and unable to maintain 144Hz under load.

The monitor is having an issue where the screen goes black after a popping noise from the monitor's speaker area. The issue seems to occur randomly and restores itself within 2-3 seconds. This issue seems to be not uncommon as I have seen similar posts in this forum and others but without solution.

Another issue is that the monitor fails to maintain 144 hz when gaming. The refresh rate is set 144 hz under windows display settings and I am using display port cable. I have used different DP cables but the issue persists. As soon as the game starts, the refresh rate from monitor's feature on top right drops to 48 hz and back 144hz, back and forth conitnuously.

If anyone has any clue what is going on with this monitor, please drop a message. Thank you!

Having the same problem with an Acer ET322QR. If anyone has a solution, that would be great

I'm still using the same monitor without any issues now. I don't quite remember what I did. If I remember some things I did:

    1. Updated AMD driver (GPU)
    2. Updated monitor driver
    3. Purchased higher quality DP cable (shortest possible for your setup); I bought a 2-foot cable.

I honestly think it was the crappy DP cables I was using.
