Will I need to replace the OS when I replace the HDD on my Acer Aspire?

The hard disk drive on my acer aspire 7551 is apparently in the process of crashing (i've been receiving the SMART warning the last couple of times I have started up my computer) 

I have backed up my files.

Ordered a new HDD which I believe to work for my computer (same brand as the one currently in it, just an upgraded version of it)

And I was wondering if I will need to order a new OS as well??

I'd hate to replace the hard drive and then have to wait for an OS as well.

I know there are replacement discs available and it seems like I could reset the notebook to factory settings as well as still have an OS??

If the system is under warranty, the hard drive would be replaced and Acer would be able to recover the system to factory settings.

 

If not, you will require recovery media to reinstall your operating system.
