I purchased the Switch 5 (i7, 8gb, 512gb) around June 20, 2017 and about like 2-3 weeks in, the stylus stopped working.

Here's what I did so far:

1.  When I took the battery out and put it back in, it suddenly works, and then it doesn't work several days later.

2.  I replaced the stylus tip with the spare that came with the unit, which temporarily solved it.  Few days later, the tablet doesn't register it.

3.  I even did a factory reset after I had installed many programs, but no luck.

4.  I made sure the tablet is completely updated with latest software from Acer and Windows 10, but still no good.

5.  I checked the forums here, but no such topic on the Switch 5 stylus

I'm currently testing whether adding a very small piece of aluminum foil on the spring inside the stylus will work or not.  If it stops working after this point, I'll call Acer themselves and have it replaced.  So in the meantime, are there other ways to get the Switch 5 stylus to work, like forever?  Thanks.

Same here... have you come up with a solution yet?

The aluminum seems to do the trick! Works for now at least. So thank you for the suggestion.

Yeah, no problem.  You can also try these:

    1.  Insert a new battery
    2.  Calibrate the screen:  https://youtu.be/933PeVR2p70
    3.  If I remember correctly after about 2 years of making the original comment, I ended up calling Acer over the phone to get the stylus replaced under warranty and customer support was quite helpful.  That did the trick!  Just make sure the tip doesn't scratch anything.  I kept putting the stylus in my backpack, so the tip probably got scraped.

On another note, you can make your Switch 5 last longer if you put your laptop to hibernate instead of sleep when lid is shut.  Because of the SSD, boot up time is under 10 seconds!  Every time I close the laptop, it automatically goes into hibernate mode while preserving the battery.  After 2 years of use, it works perfectly fine.  You can make it last for around a decade with this method: https://youtu.be/aqhvqpJJ7Ec

It sucks when you look for help and no one comes to save you.  It absolutely sucks.  Hopefully, this helps you out and prolongs the life of your Switch 5.

Try lending someone a hand and you'll be given some peace of mind.
