Hey Guys,

Got the Helios 300 a few days back. Updated the BIOS to 1.09 and did a windows update.

As recommened by some folks, I disabled auto driver updates and  updated the Nvidia Graphics driver directly from the Nvidia site ( version 385.28) and then installed PES 2017.

The game loads and the animations run just fine, but noticed a lot of stuttering on the screen during gameplay. It was frequently occuring (every 45 seconds or so). Couldn't figure out what the issue is.

Has anybody else exprienced the same? Heard a few similar complaints about GTX 1060. Is this the same?

Could this be a hardware issue? Coz the game in question runs fine on my old GT 630m laptop Smiley Tongue

Please share your thoughts. Any replies appreciated!

Are you able to test any other games and see if the stuttering is there also?

in some cases stuttering comes from very slow harddrives. Are you using SSDs?

Thanks for your replies Flx and BestStevie! The issue has been solved.

It was due to a mistake i had done by enabling Compatibility Mode for this application.

I removed the latest drivers using DDU and reinstalled drivers from Acer's website.

The stuttering came down with this.

But I think Compatibility Mode for this application which was the reason for the problem. After disabling it, the game runs like a charm!

Is DDU safe to use? I read mixed reviews about its safety. Any idea about this?

DDU is ok. It removes in some cases all driver components (only not this Vulkan software. You must remove it manually (programs and features) if the manufacturer software fails.

If you are sure that problems are solved...you can set it as solution.

I have been reading up on the stuttering issues. Try this please if you experience stuttering IN games.

Go to Start Menu > Settings Gear > Gaming > Game Mode/Game Bar.

Disable both the Game Bar and Game Mode while you are playing the game that you are experiencing the lag in. Please let me know if it works.

You all are my experimental subjects into trying to figure out these issues.  ;)

Underneath your laptop there is a battery reset pin hole.

Try pushing that reset  it for 30 seconds then release. Repeat the process 2 times and test.

Let me know if it works.
