Hello,

I have the Aspire E15 (E5-575G-57D4) and the wifi icon dropped off the face of the planet within the literal first 5 minutes of the laptop being on. Internet only works when plugged into ethernet. Other devices are connected to the wifi but the laptop does not have the option for wifi.

The network settings can only see bluetooth and ethernet. Under Airplane mode only the bluetooth is available to toggle. I have downloaded both available LAN drivers from the Acer website for my model. The drivers appear in the download folder but do not appear under the Device Manger > Network adapters or under any other folder even though I have run the setup wizard for them.

Please help!

    Hi,

Could you please install the program HWinFO64, expand Network and find out the name of the adapter in your laptop, then extract the appropriate driver(zip file) you have already downloaded( right click and click "extract all", then open the extracted driver folder, right click setup.exe, select "Run as Admin", that will install the driver.

    Hi,

Why do I need to install HWingFO64? It's not listed as an Acer or Microsoft product so it strikes me as an odd suggestion.

Going through the network status > view network properties I see that my my adpater is listed as Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 (screenshot below). I extracted the Wireless LAN_Atheros_11.0.10427_W10x64 downlaod folder; opened the extracted folder and right clicked and ran the set up wizard as the administrator.

The wifi symbol did appear both on my task bar and as an option in the network settings. It saw all the available networks. I was able to connect to my wifi but a moment later my computer froze. I got the blue screen of death with the forwny face saying that my computer ran into an error and had to restart. This happened 3 separate times. When I run the set up wizard as an administrator now nothing happens.

    Please help.

    Hi,

Could you be able to see the adapter in Device manager, if so, delete the downloaded driver files (zip files),then right click the adapter and click update driver.
