This is my first laptop gaming I've ever have and I've been using this laptop for about one month. When I got this laptop, the temp was very, around 93-97C when playing witcher 3/far cry primal. So I undervolted the laptop and now its around 70-85C when playing games. I'm just wondering to see if there are any special settings for NVDIA control panel to possibly reduce the temperature even more without compensating the FPS? For example, I read articles that debate whether V-sync should on or off when the rig has no G-sync, just like my laptop, and I still havent got a clue? Moreover, I often wonder if there are in performance settings that can be tweaked to boost up performance and lower the temperature, if anyone has any advice, that would be great! Thanks!

    Hello

From Nvidia Control Panel you can't do anything to reduce temperatures, because the high temperatures are from the CPU. I played a game without V-sync and my temperatures didn't get higher, therefore V-sync doesn't reduce the temperatures. V-sync doesn't reduce the frames, it just cuts the frames, therefore your CPU still processes 100 frames for example but only 60 are displayed.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

I set mine to "Use 3d application setting" and if I need it in a specific game I just do it in the games control panel. Can get some nasty screen tearing in some games and need to set it.

If you don't have G-sync, screen tearing will always be there. The best V-sync option that removes screen tearing is adaptive V-sync and it does its job better than just V-sync. I suggest you, if you want to use V-sync set it to adaptive from Nvidia control panel.

So it's better to disable vsync in each game and just set adaptive in Nvidia panel, why is that exactly? What if your frames never drop under 60 is it better to have Vsync or adaptive?

Edit: Just realized my Nvidia CP doesn't have Adaptive as an option. Still interested in the answer though.
