first off i would like to say I have a lot to say but that's just so you know how I got to mu current problem. I have the Cloudbook 14" in blue (A01-431-C2GN) and a couple of months ago, I attempted to reset the laptop, it got to about 87% before it told me it couldn't reset, and after trying again and getting the same result, I clicked the exit and continue option from the advanced boot menu. When it turned back on I was greeted by an infinite bootloop that went on until the laptop had ran out of battery. A week ago I found the recovery drive I had created and I tried to use it but it showed my the restore point screen and there were no restore points created. So i prowled the internet for some sort of windows installation file so that I could use my laptop, and in luck I found one, it installed windows blah blah blah. But when it finished installing and went into the windows setup, it looked different from the one initially on the computer, it also said volume 3 underneath the exit and continue option in the advanced boot menu, which it had never said before. The difference in the setup was that the first windows 10 was just a regular setup and the second had cortana helping me the way through. When the laptop went to the desktop screen I went into settings and saw my device was called "DESKTOP-NR3Q843" again it wasn't like this before. Anyway my real problem is that when I went into settings, there were several settings and services that aren't compatible with my laptop and they're taking up space. My hard drive stared with 23gb free spaced when factory reset and changed to 13gb with this new windows. What I want to know is either:

  • Can somebody with the same device create a recovery media and then copy the files onto google drive or something (i know this can be done because i've done it with a different laptop)

Or

  • Can someone tell me how to get my old edition of windows back
  • tell me how to get rid of the extra settings

I hope someone can help because it ruining my pc slowly :-(

the only official windows 10 download is from Microsoft servers:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

download the official tool and create a bootable USB flash drive using your cloudbook.

once done, reboot your laptop and press F2 to enter BIOS

go to BOOT tab and enabled F12 boot menu, press F10 to save and exit

and next boot press F12 and select the USB flash drive as bootable and re-install windows 10 deleting the previous installation.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

    Hi

I agree with the above answer.

I suspect that the next upgrade of W10 will cause more problems.  Therefore your need to find a tight edition of W10 is good.

Perhaps if you could run as administrator and try and remove parts you dont want, change settings then create a PE disk for the future?  WARNING WILL ROBINSON!

    Get-AppxPackage *zune* | Remove-AppxPackage

will clear zunemusic, and using *xbox* will remove that as well.  Other keywords could be *bing* or *3D* or even *people*.  BUT once gone they are difficult to replace
