Video card performance issues while on battery

Question

I recently purchased a new Predator Helios 300 G3-571-77QK, and when I am playing games on battery power even if at full charge, frame rates are below 30 and even though it says that it is using the GTX 1060 by default and even in the Nvidia settings the game plays like it is using the Intel on board card. It is set to use the 1060 by default,  and I have even tried changing the settings in power to maximum performance and still seem to have a problem. When the laptop is plugged into its power supply everything plays perfectly and frame rates are exceptional and gameplay is smooth as expected. What's interesting is the fact that if I take the power plug and plug it in while it is on battery the graphic quality will improve and I can then pull out the power plug and it will  maintain the quality level until the battery runs out in a few hours. Is there a setting for this that I'm missing or is this a mechanical issue with my laptop? I've only had it for two weeks so I can still exchange it.  If this is in fact a power saving option, is there anyway to override it? Any help would be greatly  appreciated.

Go to Settings, Power & Sleep -> Additional Power Settings.  Change Plan Settings -> Advanced Plan Settings

Change the options for "on battery" for:

- Wireless adapter mode (assuming you're playing on wifi) to maximum performance

- USB selective suspend settings (disable)

- PCIE (Link State Management) - set to Off

- Processor Power Management

- in this section for System Cooling Policy set battery to Active.

- in this section set Maximum Processor State to 100%

If this doesn't help you can reset the settings back to default.  Essentially you're mimicking the conditions set for plugged-in performance when your laptop is unplugged.  You'll probably only get 35-1 hour gaming unplugged but it should help your performance.

I was hoping for a more constructive reply. Obviously, perhaps, but not necessarily. I was more interested in how to override this, if possible. And why I say not necessarily is because if I plug in the power adapter, it does perform properly or rather at maximum capability, but if I unplug the power adapter it will continue to run at optimum performance in spite of the fact that it is running on battery. I'm interested to know if there is a way to Play games at an acceptable frame rate at a reasonable quality while on battery power without having to plug in the power and then unplug it just to get it to switch. I can understand reducing power consumption at the low battery level but not 100% battery charge, there should be a way to override it because games are unplayable.
