So, here's my story, I've bought this from a gamer friend who's using something more "pro", it's an AT3-710 EB52 except the GPU has been replaced by an NVIDIA GX960.

I've brought it home, installed everything, logged in, and had the time to install a few things on it (2-3 hours max), then suddenly, power turns off and I can't reboot at all, all i'm getting is this flicker of the ACER logo in front when I press the on/off button.

Already tried a few basic things, differents power cables/outlets and opening replacing ram and stuff.

My first guess is that it's the power supply who cannot take the NVIDIA, but after doing the calculations I find it a bit unlikely.

My second guess is that it might be the power cable (which I had to provide myself, I only bought the computer), can anybody confirm to me that this might be the issue, something like a problem of matching the power cable Watts with the power supply entry ? (I'm in canada so it's 115 watt input).

Anyway, I'd like to know if anyone had prior issue such as this and found a way out ?

Cheers

    Hi

Well put back the original part.

Ask your friend if they replaced it because it was problematic, they may not say, otherwise ask them for help.

I assume the supply is 115 VOLTS in Canada.

If you replace the GPU and all is well then maybe the NVIDIA is too power hungry and a new power supply or cable is the answer.  If not then remove the HDD and try again.

You need to try and remove as much hardware as possible, leaving the motherboard and ram and an output for a monitor, then try and access the BIOS.

It is possible the motherboard has failed, but a strategy needs to be implemented to narrow down the problem.
