Hello,

Been trying to find out what is the max wattage the PCie x16 slot can support on the MB "MS-7869 Ver 1.0" I have in my XC-605 desktop. No luck so far.

Anyone know how to find out? Was wandering if I can actually run the GTX 1050 TI 4GB (Low Profile) rated 75W. I am fairly optimistic about being able to fit it in, but not too sure about the power supply.

PSU is 220W and it might need upgrade, but if the PCIe slot is lower than 75W, then I would not bother looking for one.

Many thanks,

I'm about 97 percent sure that your PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot puts out 75 watts as per the PCI standard.  I have the same mainboard, but in a TC-605 computer.

    Hi JordanB,

I guess I can give it a try.

Would you also know if I can find more powerfull PSU to fit in the tiny case of the XC-605? Smiley Happy

The current PSU is realy small:

    width - 9 cm
    height - 5.2 cm
    lenght - 20.7 cm

    Many thanks,

I wasn't able to find a larger power supply for your computer.

In theory, your existing 220 watt power supply should have adequate power since the card you're referring to only draws power from the PCIe x16 slot.

If you have a local computer shop near you, they might be able to transfer your hardware over to a larger case....so you'd have more room for a "normal" power supply and better airflow.  But that can get tricky because you have to find the right case that will work with your front USB ports etc....  A local computer shop should be able find a relatively inexpensive larger case for your computer.
