Stylus for Switch 3 SW312

I just purchased a Switch 3 (SW312-31-P0MV) here in Canada, partially because I was assured a pen/stylus was a supported accessory.

I recently purchased an Acer Stylus and it's not working. I can't find any good support information on the Stylus, and it appears that there are several different Styluses from Acer, all called "Acer Active Stylus" and some of them may or may not be compatible with my switch. Honestly Acer, could you make it any more confusing? I purchased STY1A.006 - will this work? or not? what exactly do I need to purchase?

I'm strongly considering returning the Switch 3 and not purchasing again, which is a shame because it has some good features.

Acer, I'm now faced with the hassle of returning the stylus, and my faith is shaken:  do I have to do the research to try to find something that works (if it does?? the product page for the Switch 3 says it supports the "Acer Active Stylus"?), and then deal with more shipping delays before I can find out? or should I just return the pen AND the Switch and find something that definitely, and clearly, supports a pen?

I would appreciate some clear answers. Several hours spent on Google and on this Forum show results for other products, and I'd like a definitive and official answer after purchasing something that doesn't seem to work.

I also just got the switch 3 a few days ago, and have been looking around on the acer webpage and elsewhere online to try and find the stylus for it. It looks like (after some searching around), that there is a new stylus pen exclusively for the Switch 3 and 5, but it doesn't seem to be released anywhere yet. I've attached a photo taken from a review of the switch 3 on youtube that shows the new pen, which is quite different looking than the one for the previous generation Switch Alpha 12. So, I would assume it will be released in the near future...

I have the switch 3 that came with the new Acer active pen.  I also use a surface pro 4 at work.  I can confirm that the pens from both these tablets are directly interchangable in fuction.  So you can buy any n-trig/ MS supported pen and use it on the Switch 3.

The MS Surface pro 4 pen has a bluetooth connection for the top button (eraser) to launch apps.  The MS pen BT will only pair using a Surface device.  Other devices that support BT don't see the pen to pair it.
