If you are asking about the one next to HDD, it's a mSATA slot, you can install a mSATA SSD for the OS.

Your MB is similar to V3-771G and some have succeded installing bootable mSATA SSD and not others, so I can not confirm that it would be able to boot, please read more about it here:http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/v3-771g-msata.707397/page-2

I would suggest you to get a cheaper returnable mSATA card and try with a 128GB size.
