Recently I wanted to boot a variaty of opperating systems from USB keys. I know the keys are fine because I use them on other computers. When I set the BIOS boot menu to boot from USB then save and reboot with the USB key pluged in, I get a message sying "please waite." So I wait and wait and wait; I waited for 24 hours and it still says "please waite."

I was thinkinking the BIOS might be out of date or corrupt. The BIOS virsion is v1.3110. I noticed on the Acer support/driver download page has a BIOS listed version 3315. Should I flash the current BIOS to version 3315? I have not ever flashed a BIOS before and I am worried that I might do it wrong and have a usless laptop.

My laptop is out of warrenty so Acer will not help me.

Does anybody have any helpfull suggestions?

Thanks.
