R240HY LCD Monitor USB C Connection Stopped Working After 5 Weeks

Hello,

 

I have owned my current R240HY monitor for about 5 weeks. The first one I got from Amazon was dead on arrival and was sent back. Now I have had this one for 5 weeks. Yesterday, the USB-C connection to my laptop stopped working. The monitor says "no cable attached". While the HDMI connection does still work, if I chose to use it, the only reason I bought this particular monitor was for the USB C connection so I just had one small cable going into my laptop. 

 

Has anybody else had a similar problem? Any solutions? I am really hesitant to file a warranty claim, pay for my own packaging and shipping, and then have them say it is somehow my fault or there is no problem.

 

Suggestions?
