Hi -- My ATC-780 -UR11 (i7-6700, windows 10) on board sound card has pretty horrible (distorted, scratchy) sound. This occurs when using front or back panel and speakers or headphone. I'm using the latest (April 2017) driver downloaded from Acer. I've also tried using windows update (it gives an older driver version but still sounds bad), as well as trying drivers direct from Realtek (also older. Also sounding bad).

Unless this chip or motherboard is terrible or defective or something, it sure seems like a driver issue. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone else have suggestions? Workaround is an external (USB) card or a new internal soundcard. But I'd really rather just use the onboard card - my last Acer, a ATC-705 UC52, also Win 10 -- worked just fine with the same speakers/headphones.

i doubt it's a bad drivers, since you tried 3 of them.

if you are still under warranty give Acer support service a call.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

Well that's a bummer. I was really hopeful someone would say: "I had that issue and here's how I fixed it." Because I can't even imagine how many hours dealing with Acer support will take. And if it's defective? Sending it back (and swapping all my data) would be a nightmare. At which point it would be waaaay easier to buy a $50 USB DAC.
