windows 10 installation failed on aspire 3660

I intended to do a clean install on a Acer Aspire 3660 so that I created a 32 bits Windows 10 install pen drive , changed the boot order on BIOS and booted the machine to start the setup.

It booted from the pen drive , started to read from the device (pen driver's led blinked all the time & the blue win 10 logo came up on the screen ) but it took a long time and no action at all the screens that were supposed never loaded.
In order to test the win 10 setup files I had on my pen drive , I booted the previously installed windows 7 from hard drive and started win 10 installation which ran up to 100% until it rebooted then failed reverting to win7.

There are 2 questions I need to ask :

1- why the installation did not go on from the boot pen drive ? (I still prefer to do a clean install)

2- why win10 installation failed (by the 2nd method from within win7);

Thank you

Were there any failure messages or codes displayed? Jack E/NJ

Only a message like the installation could not be completed, then back to Windows 7.

Was this a Win7 upgrade from WinXP? And since you want a clean Win10 install --- not a Win10 upgrade --- you probably must re-format your hard drive. This will remove all system and data files. A word of caution --- some hardware drivers on older machines might not operate properly under Win10.  Jack E/NJ

This notebook was not mine , a friend gave me.  But I know the guy who maintains for him.
He uses to do clean installations , certainly it was not an upgrade.
However in this meantime I reformatted and installed Windows 7.
Concerning drivers I am aware that probably some of them  would not work on Windows 10 , but I decided to give it a try.
I looked for Acer official drivers (@ https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivers ), found nothing for Acer Aspire 3660 model   2314.   Model 2314 according to the sticker which is beside touchpad , despite that there is another sticker on the bottom which says it is a ASPIRE 3660 MODEL ZB3  (?).   Probably as it is an old model  it is already out of the drivers list (?)
By the lack of a official option I intend to install the drivers found @ http://www.driverscape.com/manufacturers/acer/laptops-desktops/aspire-3660/4476.
As a final question I ask  : do you thinks Windows 7 is the highest OS that this machine can run ?
    Thank you.

    >>>do you thinks Windows 7 is the highest OS that this machine can afford ?>>>

Given the machine's age and driver update status, I think Win10 should work but NOT as well as Win7. Jack E/NJ
