Acer Aspire 5515 Laptop turns on then shuts off immediatly? How do I fix this?

I am having prolbems with my Acer Aspire 5515 laptop. I press the on button, then the laptop boots for 1-2 seconds then shuts off immediatly. Also, before this, my laptop had some faint "white lines" on the screen that would appear on and off for a few months while using my laptop. Those could be easily fixed if you just adjusted/wiggled the monitor a bit..nothing major but an annoyance. Today I used the laptop just fine but then this afternoon when i tryed to use it - it will only stay on for 1-2 seconds. I press the on button....the on button turns green then shuts off....

 

Does anyone have any advice on how this can be fixed or what may be the cause?? I bought this laptop in 2009 so its not too old...only 4 yrs old. I read a few posts regarding this issue and some said it could be problems with motherboard, CPU, or an electrical shortage??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
