Hello all,

I have an Aspire TC-220 EB52.  It has 1 x 8gb RAM.  I have 2 x 4gb taken from an Aspire TC-220 EB51.  At the moment I have them inserted .... 8gb - Slot 1; 2 x 4gb - Slots 3 & 4 but only seem to have 9138mb usable memory.  Should they be in a different configuration or should I just remove the 2 x 4gb.

Thanks for any input.

    Hello,

If you want a memory amount of 16Gb, you have to insert the modules like this:

    • DIMM1: 8Gb
    • DIMM2: 4Gb
    • DIMM3: 4Gb
    • DIMM4: Free
#DIMM are marked on the printed circuit board

    Many thanks Laurent_14,

I can't really see anything that identifies the 4 slots so may I safely assume that the original 1 x 8gb module was in DIMM1 when I opened the case.  I did not move it; I just inserted the (2) 4gb modules to the 2nd and 4th slot because the colours matched.  The inside guts of a computer is not my 'bailiwick'. Many thanks for the assistance.
