The touchpad on my 2 month laptop has completely stopped working. i spent 3 hours scouring through forums and not a single fix has worked, including the drivers from the acer website. i've looked at every single mouse setting and property i could find and nothing helped.

A long with this, i also run into constant minor glitches every time i use this computer including: taskbar will suddenly switch to the top of the screen, or will no longer open until its restarted, the sound option will stop working until its restarted, the keyboard will stop working, the screen will go all black, etc...

is there an actual fix for these problems?(touchpad is priority)

2 months with that many issues almost better off sending in for repair. Base customer service reply will be reinstall Windows restore first. Then driver blah blah blah. Overall sounds like the touchpad keyboard top piece needs repair. Keyboard glitch causing your other issues most likely and explains touchpad woes. Question is why that part is acting up? If something heavy got set on keyboard/touchpad could have damaged pcb board inside that area. Cold solder? Loose keyboard touchpad connection ribbons to mother board. Did you try a external USB mouse as work around?
