when clicking on internet explorer nothing happens it won't come up, turn it off 2-4 times it

hi my name is [edited for privacy] i bought a acer aspire 7551-7422 laptop , its not even a year old and all of a sudden i have been having problems gettin it to load up the internet explorer, i woulld double click it and then a small little circle would come up for about 3 secounds. and nothing happens , then i would click on it again and nothing happens at all. so i would turn it off and retry again and click on it again and nothing would happen , i would click on my adobe reader x and nothing would happen, i then would try clicking on my start button and nothing happened, so again i would shut down the laptop , turn it back on and sommetimes it would work but not always so can you please help me. i saw this laptop on hsn network and fell in love with it , then it came in at wal-mart in the 17 inch like the one i saw on tv and had to buy it, i gave my dell xps m1330 another great laptop, anyway i would like to know if someone could help me out.
