How do you do a factory reset on a Acer A500 tablet.

So I used the reset button on the tablet and it eventually let me get into the tablet once again, however the touch screen is not responding to any touch  commands and eventually goes to a locked state that cannot be backed out of.  What options are available at this time.

So I found out how to do a factory reset through another source I have, but since the touch interface is not responding I cannot do the factory reset/restore since it requires you doing it from within your settings on the unit.  I performed a hard reset but that resulted in the unit locking with the android robot icon with a yellow triangle and '!' within the triangle.  Which I am assuming is a reference to some hardware failure more then likely related to the touch screen interface.  Suffice to say this thing is hooped.
