Good day to all ACER Team and of course to all ACER Customers,

Since December 2008 i am an ACER fan, as i bought them the Aspire 5920G the Gemstone Series for 745 euros, at promotion.

Good, performant and stable laptop for all the years with Windows XP never liked or used Windows Vista and i didn't find useful Windows 7 over Windows XP.

Well the Aspire 5920G bought in December of 2008 exactly and used till January 2017, was awesome.

All good except the noisy ventilator and the power consumption of CPU 35 watt + 28 watt nVidia Geforce 8600M GT.

All up the laptop consumed close to 80 watt, and i said that is time to upgrade to another ACER laptop.

So i did it in February of 2017, after i sold the Aspire 5920G for 200 euros and by choosing a new laptop, 220 euros Aspire ES1-533 with intel cpu N4200 quad core.

2 years warranty, cpu + igpu integrated = 6 watt power consumption, 1x time more performant over the old T7300 and the 8600M GT, and now the whole laptop total power consumption of 18 watt is simply impressive. well done intel.

But with the Aspire ES1-533 i noticed that the intel N4200 cpu was Disabled the Hyper Threading as the CPU support it, so instead of 4 cores + 4 threads to display as it should, it only show 4 cores and NO HT !

Funny as al the new ACER bios versions it show's "Performance Increased", funny what perfomance increase when ACER eng-in-ears have crippled the 4 cores + 4 threads Hyper Threading, the Dual Memory Bus 128 bit (the single slot memory bank functioning at 64 bit had crippled so much in all games with at least 5 fps or frames per second, and this is a big, big hit for games, really ACER team should be shame for this).

Well i already modded the bios:

a. activated Advanced Settings in BiOS.

b. activated the Hyper Threading by default.

c. reduce brightness (as the intel igpu used at night on minimum bightness is really, really bad and still bright and might get you the Acer customer and user BLiND)

d. hidden in Advanced Settings in BiOS the iGPU (regarding on/off for the novice user to NOT/don't deactivate that and the laptop at boot will not light the screen anymore).

and other(s) tweaks....

Well all above done, except i can't flash the modded bios, as the Secure Flash don't let me do it.

RSA Certificate's have been replaced with my own CA Certificate, except one that requires more time for me to replace and resign.

Well it could be simple with an Flash Programmer, but i have to unpack and repack the laptop....

Anyway i am wonder if ACER Team do care about Quality and Performance and they will fix in a new Signed Bios version like 1.09 the a, b, c, d points !

Thank U all Acer Team for understanding and listening the Customers !

    Hi,

I think you are wrong cause N4200 does not have HT technology: https://ark.intel.com/products/95592/Intel-Pentium-Processor-N4200-2M-Cache-up-to-2_5-GHz

    Best regard.
