Editing Sim Cards

The phone number diplayed (settings, SIM cards) for the card in slot 1 does not match the number that the phone uses (long story behind this), seems to work OK, but would like to edit the dispay to correct the disparity. Any ideas ?

I don't have an Acer smartphone in hand at the moment but i can remember that some SIMs are locked by the provider, so you can't edit that number.

This SIM came with no number, you "set" the number as part of a setup process. In my case, due to some technical issues, I went through the set up twice, and was issued a new number each time. The second number works as far as phone calls and messaging goes, but the first number shows when you display the SIM card n settings.
