New Acer K272HUL monitor Does not Recognize DP or HDMI. IT Only Recognizes DVI-D

Hello Everybody,

I recently got this monitor on a 50% off sale from Newegg. I thought it would be a great deal (technically it was). However, the included display port cable DOES NOT WORK in ANY of the Display Ports on the Monitor and my graphics card (I have a GTX 980). My old monitor was connected via HDMI. I tried HDMI and it did not work with this monitor either. As a last resort, I tried DVI-d (why does it even still exist) and it worked. Why does it not work on the other ports if those ports, at least HDMI, work on other monitors? And why is there no windows 10 driver? Windows 10 has been out for a year!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will thank you a bunch if you can help fix the problem.

Sincerely, one very disheartened gamer.

As he said, monitor then computer.  PC windows has to autodetect the monitor. Once "paired" up I guess thats a word for it should be fine. I never turn mine off, pc just puts it to sleep or something because it auto starts everytime I fire up the big desktop without a hitch. (Using Gtx1070 video card on display port.)

Thank you for responding. Acer had me send the monitor in for repairs. No matter which order I turned the PC and monitor on, it was not working. Hopefully when I get it back it will work. Thank you for the help. If it doesn't work when I get it back, I'll start with what was suggested here.
