TC-120 UR11 Ram compatibility issues

Hello, I have just bought two 4gb corsair XMS3 ram running at 1333 mhz. I installed them and i was getting random crashes. So i took them out and tried making some adjustments. I noticed that when I only used one of the sticks, the bios says it is running at 1600mhz on startup, but when i check in speccy or cpu-z it says 1333. 

 

Also, after a short time the ram runs VERY hot. 

 

Whats going on? 

 

Processor: AMD A8-5500

RAM: 2x Corsair XMS3 4GB 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v ver2.12 

Apevia 450w power supply (VS450W)

 

Is the ram compatible with my cpu but having compatibility issues with my motherboard? I ran a memory diagnostics test through windows 10 and it reported the ram as OK.

ALSO, if someone previously overclocked this ram, would it retain the overclock settings or is that purged when the ram is removed from the system?
