Hi. I got a Aspire ES1-132-C8VX with 2gB of RAM. When I open the cover on the back I can see a slot for a SO-DIMM, but it is empty? If I want to upgrade to 8GB, could I just put the 8GB SO-DIMM in that slot? Or do I have to replace th 2GB RAM into the PC? And I also saw that there is room for a SSD HDD. How big SSD HDD can you install on this model?

    Thanks.

    1. Memory:
According to the Acer specifications, this laptop supports up to 8Gb but it's a wrong information. As you have 2Gb onboard and one memory slot, you can only install one memory module of 4Gb (6Gb doesn't exist).
      - Here are the original ones of 4Gb - DDR3L - 1600MHz:

  • Hello,

First could you check the serial number of the motherboard like this?

    Spoiler
    1. Download HWiNFO portable version (no installation)
    2. Launch HWiNFO
    3. Expand Motherboard
    4. Expand SMBIOS DMI
    5. Click on Mainboard
    6. Post the first ten characters of Mainboard Serial Number located in the left column

    I think it's this one:

    Spoiler
    NB.GHN11.005MAIN BD.W/CPU.N3350.UMA.EMMC32GB.2GB

I could also give you the parts needed to install a HDD/SSD.

Has 32gb flash storage. Slot should be standard 2.5" so any 2.5" ssd/mechanical drive will work. Go SSD, worth the speed. Will just plug in but you will need to mount/support it so not loose. Again- SSD lighter and less power draw and lower heat so personally recomend that route. As mentioned, limited on ram. Supports 8gb BUT the 2gb onboard is not removable and 6gb ram sticks are pretty much a no go (seen a few on older dell laptops- not compatiable tho) so add a 4gb for 6gb total best you can do.
