Hi all! Became the owner of this device! All happy! However, yesterday I noticed that playing overwash broadcasting it on twitch TV, when connected to charging from the mains (balanced mode) the battery dropped to 50%... when it began to fall the charge did not notice because he was using the laptop all day periodically. But when I noticed (playing the game) began to collapse the game and monitor the charging. It is only diluted. But when I turned the game on Desk charging went. As it should be?

I've heard other owners of this model experience this problem too. You can ask acer to see if it normal. But I think its because the charger doesn't have enough power to keep the battery energy not falling while the laptop is on heavy load. In later models they changed the old charger with a bigger one to fix this issue.

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

The system is designed to user battery under heavy load with GPU to supplement the power requirements. It also allows the taxing of the battery which will allow it to last longer.

Once it drops below 30% I believe it limits the graphics portion because it's unable to power everything. A larger PSU would solve this, but I've dont a few things to minimize the power consumption like limiting frame rates etc which actually helps smooth the tearing and other things tha thappen. So far no problems here. Never run 3d games in balanced mode, It would cause much more of a performance hit, I'm not even sure why you'd want to do that.
