CB3-111 Developer Mode Root Password

How do I either su to root or execute a command as root (sudo)?

 

According to generic Chromebook docs, in Developer Mode root user should not require a password; however, mine does. When I execute the 'su' command in the linux shell, it prompts for the password. Simply pressing "Enter" causes it to fail.

I have the same issue. It is supposed to be what you entered when you enabled debug mode. My password is chronos but it does not work at the SHELL. and I have as yet been unable to find out what it is.
